VIETNAM JOINS A
Vietnam is a globally integrated country with close trading relationships with other nations in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world. Since joining theAssociation of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) in1995and atWorld Trade Organization(WTO) in2007, Vietnam has entered into numerous free trade agreements both through ASEAN and individually with other countries.
I'm16thefree trade agreementssigned by the government of Hanoi, the most important for Italian and European companies interested in the Vietnamese market is theEurope-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement(EVFTA) entered into force adAugust 2020. The agreement provides for theelimination of tariff and non-tariff barriersfor goods originating in both parties, thestrengthening of the legal frameworkgoverning trade and investment relations between the EU and Vietnam esets minimum rules and standardsfor various subjects (e.g. treatment of state-owned enterprises, environmental protection, protection of workers' rights, etc.).
This makes Vietnam an attractive country for investment and an excellent starting point for entering the Asian market.
